Family, Newborn & Maternity Photography

I started Petal and Olive with family sessions, and I still love them just as much as weddings. These sessions are for the everyday moments that matter — a new baby, a growing bump, siblings who won’t sit still for two seconds. All of it, exactly as it is.

Sessions happen wherever you’re most comfortable: a favourite park, the beach, the woods, or just at home in your pyjamas. No studio, no harsh lights, no forcing one more smile. Put your phone away, chat, laugh, and I’ll capture it.

“Recently had some maternity photos with Laura, along with some photos of my little boy.

Can’t recommend her enough! She even brought snacks for Isaac.

The photos were amazing, and captured him so organically.”

FAQs

My kids won’t sit still or pose — is that a problem?

Not at all, honestly, it’s what makes the best photos. I’m not looking for posed smiles, I’m looking for the real ones. Run around, be silly, ignore me for a bit. That’s when the good stuff happens.

Do you come to our house?

Yes, that’s often the best option, especially for newborn sessions. Familiar surroundings mean a more relaxed baby, and more relaxed parents.

How soon after birth should we book a newborn session?

Whenever works for you, there’s no rush and no minimum time on the session. Some families book in the first couple of weeks, others wait until things settle. Just ask if you’re not sure.

Can we include our pets?

Please do. Pets are part of the family
