Hi, I’m Laura - the face (and camera) behind Petal and Olive Photography. My pronouns are She/ Her.
I am a Wedding & Lifestyle Photographer from Magor in South Wales (for those who have no idea where Magor is it’s just over the bridge from Bristol and about 40 mins from Cardiff.
Petal and Olive was inspired by my two little boys, Peter & Oliver. They are my inspiration and motivation always.
My approach is relaxed and natural. The best photos are ALWAYS the ones where you are in your own bubble and focused on each other rather than me.
I want you to have colourful, joyful photos that are beautiful & timeless.
I give everything to making sure you have photographs with feeling and that are more than just a pretty picture. I want you to be able to feel that same moment again and again through your photos.
I promise to always give you a safe space. I want you to be relaxed and comfortable in my presence.
I photograph Weddings in Chepstow, Monmouthshire, Newport, Cardiff & Bristol. I will however travel anywhere for a joyful, fun wedding so just ask!
When I’m not behind the camera I love a good pub in particular a good beer garden. My go-to drink is a Sauvignon Blanc & I love a mojito! Love exploring new places, dancing & just enjoying life. Id love to hear from you and capture your special moments.
The Petal & Olive Way
Booking a photographer for your wedding or family session can feel like a big decision, especially if you’re not used to being in front of a camera. Here’s exactly what to expect when you work with me, so there are no surprises.
Before your day We’ll have a chat, by email, phone or in person, about what you want from your photos and how you’re feeling about the day. I want to know about your beer garden, your playlist, your nervous bits — the more I know, the more relaxed you’ll be when I turn up with a camera.
On the day I keep a low profile. My job is to blend in, not direct a show. I’ll gently guide you through portraits and group shots when we need them, but the rest of the time I’m just there, watching for the moments that actually matter — the look between you two, the best man’s face during the speech, your nan laughing at something no one else heard.
No forced smiles. No standing around for twenty minutes while I fiddle with lighting. Just your day, happening, with me quietly capturing it.
After your day You’ll get a personalised, fully downloadable online gallery. No watermarks, no upsells you didn’t ask for, just your photos, ready to share, print and keep.
Throughout all of it I promise you a safe space. If you hate having your photo taken, tell me, I’ll work around it. If you want direction, I’ll give it. This is your day, not mine, and I’m here to make it stress-free from start to finish.
