Greg & Brittany’s Intimate Cardiff City Wedding
Some weddings prove that you don’t need hundreds of guests or a packed itinerary to create something truly unforgettable. Greg & Brittany’s wedding was relaxed, personal and completely true to who they are, making it such a joy to photograph from beginning to end.
Their day started with an intimate ceremony at Insole Court in Cardiff, surrounded by their closest family and friends. From the moment Brittany walked down the aisle to Metallica, wearing a stunning black wedding dress, it was clear they had planned a wedding that reflected them rather than tradition. Every detail felt authentic, from their matching socks and lobster tattoos to the laid-back atmosphere that carried through the entire day.
Exploring Cardiff Together
After the ceremony, everyone climbed aboard a bus into Cardiff city centre while Greg and Brittany enjoyed a little time together for their couple portraits.
We wandered through the beautiful Castle Quarter Arcades, retracing the route of their very first date before making our way to Cardiff Castle. I always love this part of the day. It gives couples a chance to step away from the celebrations for a few quiet moments together, and it creates some of the most natural, relaxed photographs of the day.
The streets of Cardiff made the perfect backdrop, capturing not only beautiful portraits but also a place that holds so much meaning in their story.
A Reception Full of Personality
The celebrations continued at the incredible Pasture restaurant, where guests were treated to amazing food, flowing drinks and a wonderfully relaxed evening.
The speeches were one of my favourite parts of the day. They had everyone laughing one minute and reaching for tissues the next, sharing stories that perfectly captured Greg and Brittany’s relationship and the people around them.
Every little detail reflected their personalities. Cocktail stirrers featured illustrations of their beloved cats, and instead of a traditional wedding cake, they chose a Colin and Connie the Caterpillar cake from M&S. It was fun, unexpected and completely “them.”
A Wedding That Felt Completely Authentic
What I loved most about Greg & Brittany’s wedding was how confidently they celebrated in their own way. They didn’t feel the need to follow traditions or expectations—they simply created a day that felt meaningful to them.
As a documentary wedding photographer, these are the weddings I love to capture. Real moments, genuine emotion and all the little details that tell a couple’s story.
